Our rights do not originate with government, but they are to be "secured" by government.

Communist Holiday is Now USA's Loyalty Day

By Tom Rhodes, 5/2/12

Obama Declares May Day as Loyalty Day.

In order to recognize the American spirit of loyalty and the sacrifices that so many have made for our Nation, the Congress, by Public Law 85-529 as amended, has designated May 1 of each year as "Loyalty Day." On this day, let us reaffirm our allegiance to the United States of America, our Constitution, and our founding values.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, BARACK OBAMA, President of the United States of America, do hereby proclaim May 1, 2012, as Loyalty Day. This Loyalty Day, I call upon all the people of the United States to join in support of this national observance, whether by displaying the flag of the United States or pledging allegiance to the Republic for which it stands.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand this first day of May, in the year of our Lord two thousand twelve, and of the Independence of the United States of America the two hundred and thirty-sixth.

C. E. Ruthenberg wrote in the 1923 May Day edition of the Weekly Worker,: "May Day - the day which inspires fear in the hearts of the capitalists and hope in the workers - the workers the world over - will find the Communist movement this year stronger in the U. S. than at any time in its history.... The road is clear for greater achievements, and in the United States as elsewhere in the world the future belongs to Communism."

"Socialism appeals to better classes and has far more strength. Attack the state and you excite feelings of loyalty even among the disaffected classes; but attack the industrial system and appeal to the state, and you may have loyalty in your favor. " ~ John Bates Clark

If you look at any of our oaths of office, you find no required "loyalty" but instead, promises to defend the Constitution form all enemies foreign and domestic. Or declaration boldly proclaims that the people not only aren't required to be loyal, but have the right and duty to do away with the government if it fails to protect the people's rights.

"Loyalty of the law-making power to the executive power was one of the dangers the political fathers foretold. " ~ Garet Garrett

Obama's Mayday proclamation pretty much renders the United States to being a mere parody of itself. How would the press and Obama supports have reacted if Ronald Reagan, or Richard Nixon made the same calling for the people of the USA to recognize May Day as "Loyalty Day." The parody is complete; Obama has called for the quintessential communist Holiday, to be celebrated in loyalty to the state.

"Loyalty to the country always. Loyalty to the government when it deserves it." ~ Mark Twain
