Voter ID – Good for Thee But Not for Me.

The Obama Administration once again displays a distinct double standard. They want reliable elections free of voter fraud in other countries, but not in the USA. Concerning the Texas Voter ID Law, in August 2012 the official position of the White House as expressed by press secretary, Jay Carney, was, "And on the voter ID case, I can tell you that, as you know, this administration believes it should be easier for eligible citizens to vote -- to register and vote. We should not be imposing unnecessary obstacles or barriers to voter participation."

This week the White House put out a Fact sheet titled "U.S. Support for Strengthening Democratic Institutions, Rule of Law, and Human Rights in Sub-Saharan Africa." This official White House Position published as President Obama and his family tour of Africa, promotes the $53 million Kenyan program that helps young people "obtain National identification cards, a prerequisite to voter registration."

Civil society and independent media play a critical role in any vibrant democracy. Across sub-Saharan Africa, the United States supports efforts to ensure civil society organizations and independent media can organize, advocate, and raise awareness with governments and the private sector to improve political processes, transparency, and government performance. Examples include:

In Kenya, the $53 million Yes Youth Can program empowers nearly one million Kenyan youth to use their voices for advocacy in national and local policy-making, while also creating economic opportunities. In advance of Kenya’s March 2013 general elections, Yes Youth Can’s “My ID My Life” campaign helped 500,000 youth obtain National identification cards, a prerequisite to voter registration, and carried out a successful nationwide campaign with Kenyan civic organizations to elicit peace pledges from all presidential aspirants.

This begs the question: Why does the White House promote and laud the Voter ID requirement in Kenya, while denouncing it as “unnecessary obstacles or barriers to voter participation” in Texas?

It also makes you wonder why the DOJ and FBI are investigating Project Veritas for exposing voter fraud in New Hampshire?

Voters of Florida, quit your bitchin' if you aren't getting the leadership you want. You continually vote for whoever is already in office and refuse to replace them with new people, new ideas, and don't hold any of them accountable. Tallahassee isn't accountable to you because you won't vote them out of office. Simply put they listen to lobbyists and donors, and can ignore you the voter, because you won't hold them accountable.

The simple fact is sitting lawmakers in Florida are assured of re-election as long as they want. Over the past 10 years, state records show that only 10 of 505 incumbent lawmakers have been defeated in bids for re-election. 98.9% of state Senators were re-elected - only 1 has been defeated in the past decade. 97.8 % of state house members were re-elected. You have made it clear to the people in Tallahassee, they can keep their job, and you the voter won't do squat!

Businesses not you the voter determine what is done in Tallahassee. Future House Speaker Chris Dorworth, R-Lake Mary, and Rep. Jason Brodeur, R-Sanford, raised around a quatrter million dollars in the past quarter through the Citizens for an Enterprising Democracy PAC. This money pays for meals, travel, political consulting and other expenses the lawmakers rack up campaigning. About a quarter of that came from Walt Disney, and you wonder why we have a "Mickey Mouse" government in Tallahassee. But don't forget drug software maker Automated Health Care Solutions, pari-mutuels and health-insurers who also helped Citizens for an Enterprising Democracy.
Since the end of the legislative session in March, Democratic and Republican candidates for House and Senate seats have created dozens new committees to bypassing the $500 campaign-contribution limits, and channeling big bucks into political ads. Records indicate that $1.25 million of these funds are from companies including Malaysian gaming giant Genting, Blue Cross/Blue Shield, U.S. Sugar Corp., Florida Medical Association, and others.

The data is there, but you the voter don't take the time to look, or care. You have the government in Florida you want. Your virtually guaranteed vote for the incumbent, has made it clear that government in Florida is of big business, by big business, and for big business. Just look at the state laws making it almost impossible for the little guy to get started. Wake Up Florida, throw these Good 'Ol Boys out and put in citizen legislators. Start by looking at the LibertyTakeOver2012, and the Libertarian Party. They are offering real alternatives to business as usual in Tallahassee.

Should You Need a Photo ID to Exercise a Right?

The 21st Amendment recognizes drinking intoxicating liquors as a right of the people, repealing the 18th amendment which had prohibited intoxicating liquors. Current laws are such that to purchase intoxicating liquors like beer, wine, and other fine spirits requires a photo ID. This then begs the question:

Is requiring photo ID's to purchase beer a racist assault to keep minorities from their constitutional right to purchase and drink alcohol?

If requiring a photo ID to exercise this clearly constitutional right is not racist than voter ID cannot be racist. Although I think voter ID as a method of preventing dead people from voting, as the Attorney General said over 900 did in South Carolina, for other reasons I kind of hope that the left wins this one. If they do then requirements to produce ID's to purchase beer, wine, etc will have to be repealed on the same grounds. Once those are repealed then requiring ID's to purchase Sudafed should be repealed for the same reason.

More importantly the right to keep and bear arms includes purchasing arms. The Supreme Court has ruled that this is an individual right. There are clearly racist roots in most gun control laws, aimed at not allowing blacks to own guns. Even laws that attempt to outlaw "Saturday Night Specials" (inexpensive guns) making them unaffordable to disenfranchised minorities was directly attributed to racist rationale. Using the logic of liberals that it is racist to require a government issued ID to vote, we can only conclude that it is racist to require a government issued ID to purchase a gun. If the left wins this, then it will set up a whole new set of court precedents that can be used to eliminate government tracking and the requirement to show ID when purchasing a firearm. All you'll need to do is register to purchase firearms the same way as you register to vote, once on the register to purchase firearms you will only need to claim to be the purchaser no need to produce an ID. Registration as a reasonable restriction on the constitutional right should be no different to vote, purchase firearms or alcohol, and should have the same standards. It will eliminate the need for a "waiting period" as you are already registered. Since the government cannot and does not track your vote, it has no need and should not be able to track or know your firearms purchases. A seller need only confirm that who you claim to be is registered to purchase arms, not verify that you are who you claim to be, nor record what you purchased, etc.

This whole movement to outlaw and claim as racist the requirement to provide an ID to exercise a constitutional right may be a good thing. If we believe in the rule of law, and that it is unconstitutional and racist to require a government ID to exercise constitutionally protected rights then it opens a whole gambit of methods to eliminate an intrusive government. Start with the Real ID Act, based on this logic this is clearly an unconstitutional and racist Law and must be repealed. Since you have a constitutional right to travel, the entire ID requirement to fly, board a train or bus, etc. must be considered racist and eliminated. Since you have a constitutional right to drink alcoholic beverages, the laws requiring and ID to purchase them must be considered racist and eliminated. Since you have a constitutional right to purchase firearms, the laws requiring an ID to purchase them must be considered racist and eliminated. Obviously all of the Border Patrol Checkpoints that are not actually on the border are clearly unconstitutional and racist as nobody should be required to show a photo ID to travel.

I believe my position has changed, I agree with liberals and the NAACP, government ID's to exercise constitutional rights are racist and ALL laws, rules, regulations, and mandates by the federal government that require a person to produce a government ID should be repealed. Of course if the left supports requirements to have government ID's to exercise other constitutionally protected rights like traveling or purchasing booze and guns, then maybe it's fair to say that they don't oppose requiring a photo ID to vote on constitutional/racist grounds but instead want to preserve the current system which, as recent James O'Keefe's Project Veritas videos have demonstrated, makes it absurdly easy to register fraudulently or vote as a dead person.

To any of you who oppose voter ID laws, are you consistent and do you oppose requiring voter ID to exercise other constitutionally protected rights for the same reasons, or do you just want to keep it so that voter fraud is easy? If you oppose having to produce a photo ID to vote, and do not oppose having to produce a photo ID to buy a beer, then you need to think about your real motives.

2010 Census vs. Income Taxes

2010 Census results are out. America voted with her feet. Americans free to move from state to state, and immigrants free to choose where to live have made a decision. The Northeast is no longer growing, people are escaping it and it's liberal laws.

California once the fastest growing state in the union was stagnant over the last decade. For the first time in it's history it has not gained a house seat as the result of a census.


Texas grew grew 21 percent, its business-friendly regulations, diversified economy, and low taxes have attracted not only immigrants but substantial inflow from the other 49 states.

Here at home in Florida, we picked up two of New York's house seats. Where ever people can, they are moving away from high-tax pro-union states to low-tax pro-work states.

South Dakota and New Hampshire had the fastest growth in their regions although not as fast as the seven other states which do not have income taxes. The other seven of the nine states all grew faster than the national average. In total 35% of the nations total population expansion occurred in the 9 states without income taxes. These states in 2000 only had 19% of the nations population.

I think the power of the Northeast and industrial Midwest in winning the presidency is waning. The people of this country when given a choice, choose no income taxes. Next election will prove very interesting.
